Kendrick Lamar - Overly Dedicated (2010)

That album cover is so fucking 2010 to me. I don't know how to explain it, but everyone had art like that back then, I guess to give off the initial impression that the album/mixtape is going to be smarter and more refined than it actually is.

Wow, I heard people tell me this was a good mixtape, but damn if there isn't really much worth paying attention to on here. There are so many songs on here where Kendrick Lamar sounds like he's close to crying even when he isn't talking about anything remotely emotional, it's just his voice and delivery that makes him so fucking unconvincing when he's rapping about how hard he is. The beats are just okay, none stick out as being particularly good or bad, they just kinda hang in the background, and the hooks are a bit better (except for "Cut You Off (To Grow Closer)", no respectable adult is going to be caught dead listening to that dumbass shit) than some shit Kendrick Lamar is (unfortunately enough) known for, but that doesn't mean that they're good either. I just don't get how anyone can act like this is a good mixtape when it's just.. There, I guess. Kendrick dick-riders are fucking FIERCE, man! They probably laughed when Kendrick said "I might hit the gin once a month, I'll let you inhale like an atheist" in "H.O.C." despite that being such a fucking corny lyric. Ever wonder why GOOD stand-up comedians don't get up on stage and just tell puns? Because they're such a fucking shitty form of comedy! What's with these motherfucking Kendrick stans?! Fuck 'em! Fuck them and North Korea's government!! Unpopular opinion, but I think North Korea's is doing some bad stuff right now that doesn't hold the best interest for its people in mind!!
