Jay Rock - Watts Finest Vol. III (The Watts Riot) (2007)
My girlfriend got me some Astronaut ice cream (as of writing) today, and lemme tell you, that shit is COOL. It's entirely dehydrated ice cream to the point where it becomes a dry block, but it somehow manages to take EXACTLY like how you'd expect ice cream to taste! It melts in your mouth and all of that good shit. The reason I'm bringing this up is because 1. Fuck you & 2. the music on this mixtape sounds kinda dehydrated compared to the mixtape that came before it. The beats aren't as good, too much time is given to Kendrick Lamar, and the songs just generally aren't as good. When you combine that shit with two supposed guest features by 2Pac.. Are you fucking KIDDING me?? GOTTA APPEAR GANGSTA BY HAVING SOME VERSES BY A FAMOUS DEAD GANGSTA ON MY MIXTAPE!! Fucking give me a break, dude. This shit ain't horrible, but there's really no reason to listen to this outside of "1-800-Homicide", "Big Guns (feat. K. Dot)" and "Imagine (feat. K. Dot & Punch)" because the rest really hasn't aged well at all, despite being released just ten years ago, which really begins to wear on you because this mixtape is an hour and 13 minutes long.. Golly gee whiz!!!
