Strapping Young Lad - C:ENTER:### (2007)
See colon.. Enter colon.. POUND POUND POUND!!!
My God, it often gets overshadowed by the volume of the electric guitars, but Byron Stroud honestly has such a sick bass tone, and it shows in the title track, which is an instrumental track that blows pretty much everything from "The New Black" out of the water. It's groovy as FUCK. Next up is a cover of the Melvins' song "Zodiac", and I've never been a Melvins fan so I can't confirm if they did the cover faithfully, but I don't really fuck with it at all. To top the EP off, it ends on two live renditions of "In the Rainy Season" and "Underneath the Waves" and nothing should even be said about that, because you already know those songs fucking annihilate. I guess this EP was a little "we're sorry" parting gift from the guys to make up for the shitty "The New Black" before (at least at this point in time) permanently ending the band, and yeah, the thing as a whole isn't great, but it's gucci, and that's all I really wanted from the band after hearing that fucking turd of an album.
7/10
