Devin Townsend - Christeen (Plus Four Demos) (1998)
True to its title, you get "Christeen" from "Infinity" in the exact way it appears on the album, and it's a fuckin' great song, but it won't impact my rating for this, and you also get four demos that people like to say shit like "IT SOUNDS LIKE IT COULD'VE FIT ON THE ORIGINAL ALBUM" but if we're being honest, they're smoking some powerful shit. I mean, "Processional" for example goes way too fucking long and isn't even really entertaining in the first place, and even if you say "b-but he used the ending for "The Mighty Masturbator" years later!!" then read my words slowly: IT DO NOT MATTER. "Love-Gun" is a distorted mess, and the other two aren't bad but aren't really that interesting. It's true that his demos on here may sound better than any tracks I actually finish, and I'd say these tracks are well enough for a Devy fan to look up just to know them, but they really aren't anything to write home about and I can see why he left them off of "Infinity": They don't really serve much of a purpose or go anywhere, they're just kind of stuck in musical repetition, much like Adele's entire fucking career. I mean, seriously: Piano, vocals, low-tempo.. Who the fuck is still actually going out and BUYING her albums? Even my mom thought that one with "Rolling in the Deep" sucked ass, and Adele is certified mom-core.
