Professor Macklemore - Open Your Eyes (2000)
What some people might not know about Macklemore is that he used to be a really fucking great rapper flow-wise. I'm not joking! Listen to this album! He uses quite a few flows, and can sometimes rippity-rap pretty frishitty-fast. I'm NOT lying, joking, or bamboozling, I'm serious!.. But that can't save this album from itself. Bland beats, repetitive lyrics about LE REAL HIP-HOP not being on the radio (hilarious, given his recent collaboration with Lil Yachty) and general backpacker tomfuckery. There's even a song here about being a sperm cell, being created in your mother's womb, etc, and all I can think is "..didn't Canibus have a song JUST LIKE THIS a few years before this song came out?" because Mackledoodles is just repeating tons of shit I've heard before! Wow! Call that me gettin' fuckin' FLUSTERED over the words that he MUSTERED about underground being the WAY TO GO because you won't hear real hip-hop on the RADIO!! WOO!! PUT A BOOM-BAP BEAT UNDER THAT!!
